Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Affex collects when you use this website, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. We collect the minimum needed to run our waitlist and answer your messages.

Data we collect

  • Waitlist: your email address, the language you used the site in, and a one-way hashed form of your IP address (for spam protection — the raw IP is never stored).
  • Contact form: the name, email, subject and message you submit.
  • Preferences: your chosen language, stored in your browser (cookie / local storage). No tracking or advertising cookies are used.

How we use it

We use your email solely to notify you when Affex launches. Contact details are used only to reply to your message. We do not send marketing unrelated to the launch.

Legal basis

We process this data based on your consent, given when you submit the waitlist or contact form. You can withdraw it at any time by asking us to delete your data.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent your data. It is stored on our hosting provider (Cloudflare) and is not shared with third parties except as required to operate the site or by law.

Retention

Waitlist emails are kept until launch and a reasonable period after, or until you ask for removal. Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your request.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. Just email us and we will act on it.

Affex app (iOS, Android and desktop)

The Affex app works offline. Your decks, courses and study history live on your device. The items below apply only if you use the optional account, sync or shared catalog.

  • Account: email address, display name and avatar, used to sign you in and sync. Sign-in tokens are kept in the device's secure storage.
  • Sync: when you turn it on, your collection (decks, notes, courses, study history and attached media) is sent over HTTPS to our servers so it can be restored on your other devices.
  • Usage analytics: anonymous app events (such as screens opened and sessions) tied to a device identifier, used only to improve the app.
  • Error reports: when the app hits an error, technical details (error message, app version, device model and OS) are sent to our internal monitoring channel so we can fix it. They do not include your cards or study content.
  • Photos: only images you choose yourself for cards or your avatar. Nothing is read without your action.
  • Notifications: study reminders are scheduled locally on your device.
  • Shared catalog: content you publish is public. You can report any content from its preview screen.
  • We do not show ads, do not sell data and do not track you across other apps or sites.

Deleting your data: open Settings → Delete account in the app to remove your account and synced data immediately, or follow these steps. Data stored only on your device stays on your device until you uninstall the app.
